(From Simpson Funeral Home)Connie L. Grimes age 72 of Webb City passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Mercy Hospital of Joplin surrounded by her family.
She was born in Webb City to William and Virginia (Sloan) Powell on January 20, 1951.
Connie was a lifetime resident of Webb City. She worked at the N & Out Convenience Store for many years and was an active member at the Webb City Senior Center. She loved listening to music, attending gatherings at the Senior Center, and watching movies.
Connie is survived by her sons, Robert Powell of Webb City, Ray Grimes and wife Dianna of Alba; daughter, Rebecca Randolph and husband Joseph of Florida; sister, Rose Puckett of Webb City; brothers, Steve Powell of Virginia, David Powell of Arkansas; grandchildren, Baylen Derrick and Tyler Derrick both of Springfield; Alexis Randolph of Florida; Levi Grimes of Arkansas, Lena Grimes of Joplin; Lael Grimes of Webb City; Karissa Kyger of Webb City; Sadie Grimes of Webb City; 14 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Tommy, George, William, Robert, Don, and Doug Powell.
Connie’s wishes were to be cremated and no services will be scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City. The family requests friends and relatives to visit www.simpsonfh.com to share photos and memories of Connie.
