Margaret Rohr

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Margaret Ann Rohr, 82, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024, in Neosho, Missouri. Margaret was born to Walter V. and Anna (Fercking) Coker on September 23, 1941, in Ness City, Kansas.

Margaret was a proud graduate of Ness City High School and went on to marry the love of her life, Walter Rohr, on August 17, 1963, in Ness City, Kansas. Together, they were blessed with two sons, Martin (Marty) and Glenn (stillborn). Margaret found joy in cooking and was known for her delicious meals and generous spirit. She worked as a waitress for many years, where her warm smile and kind demeanor touched the lives of countless customers.

Relocating from the sparse landscapes of western Kansas to the lush trees of Neosho was a delightful change for Margaret. Over the course of 30 years, the Rohr family made Neosho their home and became deeply involved in various community organizations, dedicating numerous hours to volunteering, especially with Crosslines.

Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents, both sons, and siblings: Helen (Virgil) Schraeder, Reba (Ivan) Kolbeck, Frances (Chester) Wendler, Raymond (Hilda) Coker, Martin (Myra) Coker, Shirley (Melvin) Stein, Phyllis (LeRoy) Schuette, Walter L. (Patricia) Coker, John Coker, Donald (Patricia) Coker, and sister-in-law, Sue Coker.

She is survived by her brother, Douglas, Sr., sister-in-law Gail, and a large extended family, as well as many dear friends who will cherish her memory forever.

A joint memorial service will be held for Margaret and her son Marty, where the internment of their ashes will be placed alongside their beloved husband and father, Walter, at the National Veterans Cemetery in WaKeeney, KS.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Medicalodge Neosho and Gentiva Hospice for the excellent care and the abundance of love provided to Margaret during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to your local Food Bank in honor of Margaret, reflecting her lifelong dedication to helping others in need. Arrangements are entrusted to Clark Funeral Home in Neosho. May the legacy of Margaret Ann Rohr continue to inspire acts of kindness and generosity in all who knew her.
