Paul E. Marbut, affectionally known as “Paulie”, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at him home in Duenweg, Missouri, at the age of 67 years old. Pauly was born on January 19, 1958 in Tyler, Texas to the late Fredrick and Ruby (Neal) Marbut.
Paulie attended schools at Parkwood High in Joplin and went to work in the trucking industry immediately after. Paulie was an End-Dump Driver for 43 years, working for Glenn Diesel and Frontier Leasing.
During time off, Paulie enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and hunting with family and friends and was members of several hunting and fishing clubs like the National American Hunting and Fishing Club as well as the Missouri Hunting and Fishing Club. He would often be found at home watching his favorite old shows on the television. Paulie never missed an opportunity to join a turkey shoot, which he had been a part of since the age of 4 years old.
Paulie married Donna Gooding on August 26, 1976 in Webb City, Missouri, she survives of the home. To this union came two children, Alicia Watson and husband, Paul of Duenweg and a son, Christopher Marbut and wife, Amy of Rustin, Florida; 7 grandchildren, Devin Marbut and wife, Kellie, Zane Marbut, Hope Marbut, Elizabeth Norris, Able, Hannah and Asher Evans; sister, Renee Tellagale of Tyler, Texas; brother, Joe Marbut of Duquesne and a host of extended family and friends.
Other than his parents, Paulie is preceded in death by a brother, David and one sister.
Funeral services are planned for Friday, June 27, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Diamond Grove Christian Church of Joplin. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. up to service time at the church. Following service, Paulie’s wishes were to be cremated with burial of ashes at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of the mortuary.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary of Joplin, Missouri.
