Floyd Leon Howerton, age 73, Joplin, passed away at 3:09 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Freeman West Hospital after an illness.
Floyd worked at Missouri Steel Castings for 37 years. He had also worked at Joplin Building Materials and in the street department for the City of Joplin. In his spare time, Floyd enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.
He married Peggy France on November 4, 1962 in Joplin. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include a son, Rick Howerton and his wife, Tina; a daughter, Terri Gray; grandchildren, Alicia Plake, Preston Gibbs, Hailey McLand, Mackenzie Howerton; one great grandchild, Landon Konkle; one sister, Barbara McCoy and her husband, Harold; and a brother, Jim Howerton and his wife, Pam.
He has been taken for cremation. Family services are being planned for a later date.
