Norma Dean (Medley) Smith, age 76 of Webb City, passed away with her sons by her side on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Country Angels in Baxter Springs.
Born on June 6, 1939 in St. Louis to the late Mamie Helen Lewellyn Medley and Auman Adolph Medley, she was one of eight children. In 1965 she married Paul James Smith of Caro, MI. She was a 1958 graduate of Galena High School and in 1972 received her LPN degree from Franklin Technical School of Nursing. Norma worked for St. John's Hospital and Regional Medical Center 39 years before retiring in 2002.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by two sisters, Ida Louise Crockwell and Betty Ann Clark.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen P. Smith of Fort Lee Virginia, Gregory A. Smith and wife Tina of Lowell, AR; four grandchildren, Angelina Rose Marie Smith, Ian Smith, Troy Smith and Noah Smith; four brothers, Auman (Sonny) L. Medley, Norman W. Medley, Robert W. Medley, Clifford L. Medley; one sister, Delores Rowan; five nieces and three nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Parker Mortuary with Pastor Paul Mooney officiating. Interment will follow at Messer Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Parker Mortuary.
