Virginia Mae Bushner, age 92 of Joplin, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Medicalodge of Neosho.
Virginia was born October 31, 1923 in Hillsboro, Illinois, the daughter of Lloyd and Helen Whitson Gilliland. She was raised on a farm in Kellerton, Iowa, graduating from Kellerton High School in 1940.
Virginia lived in Joplin since 1946, moving from Des Moines, Iowa. She was a retired checker at Food Town Grocery on The Plaza in Joplin. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Diamond, Missouri.
Virginia married Clyde Bushner on May 5, 1967 in Joplin. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1993.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandy Evans Springer and husband, Ron of Neosho; grandsons, Ryan Springer and wife, Heather of Joplin, J.W. Alderman of Seneca and J.R. Alderman and wife, Rebecca of Wyandotte, Oklahoma; great granddaughter, Becky Cooper; great-grandson, Sam Springer; great great- granddaughter, Katie Alderman.
In addition to her husband and parents, Virginia is preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Alderman; two brothers, Lloyd Gilliland, Jr. and Wilbert Gilliland; granddaughter, Michelle Hulme and a great grandson, Andrew Springer.
Graveside services are planned for Monday, November 9th at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City. Rev. Ron Crow will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church, Diamond, Missouri.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
