Lloyd Dye

Lloyd Ellis Dye, Jr, age 76, Carl Junction, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Mercy of Joplin.

Lloyd was born January 20, 1943 in Cardin, Oklahoma, son of the late Lloyd E. Dye, Sr. and Juanita Heatherly Dye. He graduated from Carl Junction High School, and worked for Precision Products, then Vickers for 26 years until their closing, and then he worked for Empire District Electric Company in the maintenance department for 23 years before retiring in 2007.

Lloyd enjoyed being with his friends and family during different social events where he was known for cooking special meals, especially his chili. Whether he was enjoying a NASCAR race, or cheering on his beloved Kansas City Chiefs, he was always the hit of the party. In his early days, he was known to sing a local clubs with different bands.

In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by a grandson, Derick Sowder; two sisters, Norma Jean Mitchell and Eleta Kay Spencer.








Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Kathy Dye; children, Rick Dye of Joplin, Marti Sowder and husband Rick of Asbury, Missouri, and Cory Dye of Carl Junction; four grandchildren, Caleb Dye, Taylor Dye, Blaine Dye, and Lane Sowder; two great-granddaughters, Nevaeh Triplett and Sophia Dye; sister-in-laws, Connie Frazier and husband Bill of Carl Junction, and Doris Mitchell and husband Steve, Waco, Missouri; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Monday, January 13, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Carl Junction Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
