(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Frankie “Charlotte”(Newdigger) Comer was born March 8, 1934 to Odise and Opal (Sanders) Newdigger. She went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2021. She was 87 years old and a lifelong resident of the Joplin area. She married Bobby Gene Comer on Jan. 10, 1954.
Charlotte was a graduate of Neosho high school and continued her friendship with many of her classmates throughout her life.
She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir for many years. She never learned to read music but loved to play hymns on the piano and organ that she knew by heart.
It was fun to hear her tell stories of her childhood and she was always interested to hear the stories of others. She made friends easily and loved to “visit” with everyone.
Grandma Charlotte loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart and spoke of them with pride.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob Comer, sisters Vicki Newdigger and Margaret Foster and great grandson Graham Arthur Blasi.
Charlotte is survived by her son Richard Comer and wife Tammi of Diamond, Mo. Daughter Karie Blasi and husband Kendel of Claremore, Ok. Grandsons Josh Comer and wife Misti of Williston, ND, Jonathan Comer and wife Amber of Carl Junction ,Mo. and Klint Blasi and wife Allison of Owasso, Ok. Granddaughters Kourtney Blasi of Owasso, Ok. and Jordan Barnes and husband Tyler of Springfield, Mo. She is also survived by four great grandchildren Lizzy, Noah, Tatum and Gates.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Mason Woodard Mortuary. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, July 10th, 2021 at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery 415 N. St. Louis Joplin, MO 64801.
In leu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Hospital in care of Mason Woodard Mortuary.
