Lenville Smith

Mr. Lenville Leon Smith, 90, of LaRussell, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Lenville entered this life on December 9, 1930 in LaRussell, Missouri, to the union of the late Austin and Mary (Johnson) Smith. He graduated from Mt. Vernon High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. 








On April 3, 1955 he was united in marriage to Virginia Lee Ramsey. Lenville was very talented in woodworking. While living in Nashville, he made a coffee table for Patsy Cline and bedroom furniture for Dennis Weaver. 

For many years he and Virginia owned and operated the LaRussell General Store. He was a sixty year member of the LaRussell First Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, playing the guitar, board games and reading the Almanac. He will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia, of sixty-five years; and daughter, Sandy Smith.

Lenville is survived by his children, Lois Shearer, of LaRussell, Missouri and David Smith and wife, Dorothy, of Long Island, New York; grandchildren, Shaunate Ray, and Austin Smith; great-granddaughter, Aleena Ray; siblings, Barbara Farmer and husband, Gail, of Willard, Missouri and Herbert Smith and wife, Marie, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Cave Spring cemetery with Pastor Reese Morrow officiating.
