Marion Carroll

Marion “Mema” Darlene Carroll, age 76, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 8:55 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at the Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. She was born January 31, 1945, in Orange County, California, the daughter of Jack and Viola (Fullerton) Means.

Marion was a Certified Nurse Aide for Dade County Nursing Home retiring after 26 years. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Everton, Missouri and loved to play cards, watching the Hallmark channel, spending time with her family, and traveling.







On December 14, 1963, she married Jim Carroll, in Aurora, Missouri.

Marion is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jim; one daughter, Sandy Wheat and her husband, Dale, of Carthage, Missouri; one son, Jimmy “Fish” Carroll, of Miller; two grandchildren, Jesse Nicole Burnett and her husband, Crew and James Allen Lee and his wife, Taylor all of Carthage; one great-granddaughter, Bailey Marie Burnett of Carthage; two sisters, Sharon Washam of Washburn, Missouri and Claron Beach and her husband, Henry, of Marionville, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Viola and three brothers, Theron, Garon and Daron Means.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon. Burial will follow at the Sycamore Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021, in the funeral home chapel.
