(From Parker Mortuary)Earl Gene Stewart, age 84, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, July 27th, 2022 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
Earl was born May 1st, 1938 in Abilene, Texas, son of the late Reuben and Leeta (Chandler) Stewart.
He married his best friend, Linda Rowe in June of 1996.
He enjoyed watching westerns in his spare time. Earl and Linda owned Stewart’s CafĂ© in Asbury, Missouri for some time. He was known as having the best ribs in town. He was a true cowboy and you could always find him wearing his boots and hat.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four-legged son, “Buck Shot”.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Linda Stewart; son, Justin Stewart, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; daughter, Angela Gann (Adam), of Ochelata, OK; step-son, Michael Giltner, of Springfield, Missouri; step-daughter, Lorrie Ellicott (Tom), of Joplin, Missouri; and two grandchildren, Speck Gann and Kaitlyn Welch (Derek).
No services are planned at this time.
Cremation arrangements are under the special direction of Parker Mortuary.
