(From Parker Mortuary)Julianne Elizabeth Hinson-Higdon, age 42, Joplin, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022 at her home surrounded by family.
Julianne was born November 19, 1979 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, daughter of the late Johnny Earl Hinson and Catherine Anne (Stafford) Hinson. She moved from Jonesboro to San Juan Bautista California at the age of four. She lived with her Aunt and Uncle Doris and Lucian Sabatino.
She studied at Notre Dame High School in Salinas, California and then received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Santa Clara University. In California she worked in accountintg at Silicon Valley Security and Patrol before marrying Ray Higdon on September 23, 2011. The couple moved to Joplin in 2020 to be with family. Six months after being in Missouri she was diagnosed with Colon cancer. She succumbed after a brave battle for 18 months.
She loved being outdoors, especially spending time on the lake whether boating, swimming, or hiking. She was an accomplished swimmer as a youth, competing locally, nationally and internationally. Her greatest joy was getting to spend time with her family. She will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to her parents, Julianne was preceded in death by her “dad”, Lucian Sabatino.

Survivors include her husband, Ray Higdon; children, Kyle, Alexa, Rayley, Rayanne, Raygan, and Raynger ; brothers, Todd Hinson and Johnny Hinson; her “mom”, Doris Sabatino.
The viewing is Tuesday from 5 to 7 pm at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. also at Parker Mortuary Chapel with Danny Sluder officiating.
Cremation will follow the service and her ashes placed in a bench in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
