(From Ozark Memorial Park Crematory)Louis Allen Albergucci, 81, stepped into his eternal home on Sunday September 29, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO. He was born on December 1, 1942 to Sophia Irene Herbinger and Louis Albergucci.
Louis graduated from Joplin High School in 1960. He retired from Fleming Foods in 1993. After he retired, he owned several businesses that kept him busy including lawn care, ranching and Albergucci Trucking.
Louis was a 26-year member of the Joplin Elks Lodge 501. His hobbies included golf, bowling, writing poetry, restoring furniture, spending time with friends and family and sharing his famous chocolate chip cookies.
Surviving are his wife of almost 50 years Sunny Thornton Albergucci of Joplin, MO, three sons David (Shauna) Lopez of Anderson, MO, Darin (Carol) Albergucci of Baird, TX, Dustin (Gina) Jefferies of Glenpool, OK and one daughter Melissa Parker of Joplin, MO, 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, one brother Ronnie Lopez of Pittsburg, KS and many, many friends.
Louis is proceeded in death by his parents Irene and Louis Albergucci, his adopted father Al Lopez, one brother Michael Lopez and numerous aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Joplin Elk’s Lodge #501.
The family requests memorials to be designated to the Elks Lodge 501 or the Joplin Humane Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park of Joplin, MO.
