(From Parker Mortuary)Darold Jerry Griner, age 88, Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Joplin Gardens after an extended illness.
Jerry was born on November 14, 1936 in Carl Junction, Missouri to the late Harold and Hazel Griner. Jerry attended school up to the 11th grade and enlisted into the Air Force where he finished his diploma. After returning home, Jerry learned his trade as a Diesel Mechanic where he worked for different companies in the Joplin area such as Jay’s Diesel and Ray’s Diesel. He was of the Baptist Faith.
On March 3, 1961, Jerry married Betty Hilburn and just celebrated 64 years of marriage, Betty is survived of the home in Joplin. To this union, Betty and Jerry had two sons, William ‘Greg’ Griner (Debora) of Carthage and Harold Griner of Joplin; grandchildren, Josh Griner of Seneca and Jessica Roberts (Matthew) of Maumelle, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Piper, Lincoln and Tatum; one brother, Paul Griner of Windsor, Missouri.
Other than his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his siblings, Ruby Phipps, Michael, Lewis, James, Henry and Frank Griner.
No services are planned at this time.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
