(From Greenfield Funeral Chapel) Mike Allen Rector, 69, of Joplin, Missouri, escaped from this earth on Sunday, April 13, 2025 peacefully at home while watching his favorite TV show. He was born July 9, 1955 in Springfield, Missouri, at St John’s Hospital (aka Mercy), where he was adopted as an infant by Marvin Gaylard Rector and Marjorie Lee (Neale) Rector.
Mike lived the biggest part of his life
on a farm in Dade
County. He attended and graduated
from Lockwood High
School in 1974. In that
summer of that year,
he married his former
spouse, Stella Marie
(Harrison) Mabee. In 1978, they become
parents to their only
child, Kelly Lee Rector.
Mike worked has
a router operator in
the woodshop department at O’Sullivan Industries for 29
years. After the closing of the factory in 2007, he went back to his "roots" living on a farm and helping neighbors he had known his entire life.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Kelly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Memorial services
will be held at 10 a.m.
on Saturday, May 17,
2025, at Cedarville
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to
the Cedarville Cemetery or to the Humane
Society of Southwest
Missouri.
