Cindy Barnett

Cindy Barnett, age 52, of Monett, Missouri, sadly passed away in her home on May 8, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on November 20, 1972, in Cassville, Missouri, the daughter of William Ray and Linda Lou (Tennison) Poindexter.

Cindy dedicated many years of her life working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, caring for others with compassion and kindness. Cindy faced many challenges in life, including the loss of her mother, Linda Lou Meyers, in 2010. However, her father, Billy Ray Poindexter, remained a constant source of support and love in Aurora, Missouri.








Despite facing hardships as a single mother, Cindy found solace and strength in her faith in Jesus Christ. Her spiritual journey led her to the Whosoever program, where she experienced unconditional love and acceptance. This experience transformed her life, inspiring her to spread love and positivity to everyone she encountered.

Cindy was a God-fearing woman, a beacon of light and inspiration to many. She touched numerous lives with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. Even during her battle with cancer, Cindy remained steadfast in her belief and continued to inspire those around her.

Cindy was a devoted mother to her five daughters, Felicia Poindexter of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, Danielle Poindexter of Monett, Missouri, Lura Warren of Monett, Missouri, Rachelle Poindexter and her husband, Brett Laturner, of Monett, Missouri, Tara Nelson and her husband, Eddie, of Pierce City, Missouri, Gage Poindexter of Joplin, Missouri; her father, William Ray Poindexter of Aurora, Missouri; her stepfather Brian Meyers of Aurora, three siblings, Juanita Lane and her husband, Danny Watkins, of Baxter Springs, Kansas, Melanie Huffman of Oswego, Kansas and Kevin Poindexter of Galena, Kansas and her stepfather, Bryan Meyers of Aurora, Missouri. Cindy's family expanded with the addition of ten grandchildren, whom she adored and cherished.

Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Lou Meyer and her nephew, Theodore Lane.








Her passing is deeply felt by her children, father, sisters, brothers, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and countless friends. Cindy Barnett leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and faith that will continue to impact those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She will be greatly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence.

A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the Covenant Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt.
