Ester Waggoner


Born January 11, 1931, died May 2, 2025

Ester Rose Waggoner passed away on May 2, 2025, of recurrent cancer, with her son at her side. She was 94 years old.

Ester was the daughter of Ernest Lucien Breuil and Odessa May Breuil (née Schmale) of Neosho, Missouri, U.S.A. She is survived by her son, Don Waggoner (Salem, Oregon), and her sister Virginia Seward (Newtonia, Missouri). Ester has three grandchildren: Jamie Waggoner, Jennifer Dunnigan, and Orie Waggoner. She also has four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.








Ester was a graduate of Midway High School (Stark City, MO). During her successful 40+ year retail career, she held a variety of positions for Montgomery Ward and The Paper Factory, including store manager, district manager, and regional trainer. She excelled in all these roles, winning many sales contests and numerous awards, including #1 in a Montgomery Ward sales contest for the entire United States, and Manager of the Year for The Paper Factory twice.

Visitation for Ester will be held at Pilot Knob Baptist Church (491 County Road 716, Belle, Missouri ) on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. with a reception and interment immediately following.

Ester was a loving and generous mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was also a very creative woman who loved sewing and gardening in her free time. She will be deeply missed.
