(From Parker Mortuary)Betty June Wood, age 96, Carl Junction, MO, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at her home surrounded by family.
Betty was born January 11, 1929 in Barnsdall, OK, daughter of the late Henry Larkin Brammer and Nina Gertrude (Monigold) Brammer. She grew up in Joplin and graduated from Joplin High School. She was a loving mother and grandmother who took great pride in taking care of her family. She was known as a great cook and gardener, and loved spending time in her garden. She loved to square dance and did that a lot in her younger years. She also enjoyed swimming in the pool. She was a very loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by many,
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Pierce Wood; a son, Richard Hunt; and a sister, Martha Morton.
Survivors include her children, Donna Holland, Bobby Hunt both of Carl Junction, and Lee Wood and wife Stacy of Fort Myers, FL; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two nephews.
Funeral service will be Friday, August 22, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with her son, Rev. Lee Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
