Born in Joplin, Missouri on August 24, 1963, and raised in Webb City, Michael's childhood was filled with adventures alongside his best friend and sister, Tammy Cloven. The two were inseparable, making memories that would last a lifetime. Michael eventually met the love of his life, Angela, in Oklahoma City. Their love was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. He brought her back to Missouri, a place he affectionately called "God's Country," where they built a wonderful life together after marrying on December 3, 1984. Angela was his best friend and his favorite person to go on adventures with.
A Man of Many Passions
Michael was a man of countless hobbies, from fishing and hunting to flying drones. He had a passion for racing and spent many of his son Dalton's childhood days at the track, building cars and making memories.
Michael and Dalton were two peas in a pod, sharing not only a striking resemblance but also a deep love for fishing. Michael taught Dalton everything he knew, and Dalton is the man he is today because of his dad.
Later in life, Michael's favorite title became "Poppy." For the last six years, he made a tremendous impact on his grandson, Bennett. Their adventures were legendary—they spent their time fishing, flying drones, and going on golf cart rides, creating a bond that was truly special.
He also loved taking drives with Angela to look for wildlife. It wasn’t unusual for Mike to wake Angela up in the wee hours of the morning to go on an adventure.
A Caring Soul
Michael was a dedicated employee in the transportation department at Freeman Hospital. He went above and beyond for the nurses and employees who rode with him. He'd arrive early every day to clean his bus, ensuring it was always in pristine condition for his passengers.
He will be deeply missed by his family, including his wife, Angela; his son Dalton and daughter- in-law Ashley; his grandson Bennett; his sister Tammy Cloven, his nephews Michael Pope and Travis Foote and his wife Stephanie; his stepmother Mary Cloven; his sister-in-law Robin Moon and her husband Michael; his nieces Jinera and Brynna Moon; a large extended family; and some of his most favorite beings: his beloved dogs Smurf, Gemma Teller, Bella Jo, and Sadie Mae;and his granddogs Nash and Moose.
Mike was preceded in death by his father Thomas Michael Cloven, his mother Carolyn Sue Meyer, his cousin Terry Copple and wife Rhonda.
Michael's absence will be felt by everyone who was lucky enough to know him. Anyone who did was better for it. His kindness, warmth, and zest for life will be cherished forever.
