Consetta Bowen

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Consetta Maxine Bowen passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025 in Joplin, Missouri. She was born on August 2, 1957 in Titusville, Florida. Consetta was always an inquisitive child with a desire to learn about new things. Her desire for learning never stopped. She graduated highschool in 1976 and then went on to earn her CNA license to be able to work in the nursing home. She loved working in the nursing home, she took great pride in caring for the residents.

She would even hand write letters for them as they would dictate to her what to write. She was very firm in her belief that residents should be treated with kindness and respect. She always treated each of her residents as though they were her family. To her, they were. For over 20 years she cared for her residents. there were times she would work double shifts to ensure every hall had coverage.

In her free time she loved spending time with her "fur baby". She had several over the years. Each one was treated as though they were human. To say they were "spoiled" would be an understatement. Her last fur baby currently resides with Consetta's sister.

Although Consetta loved her "fur babies", her greatest loves are all of her siblings and especially her nieces and nephews. Her nieces and nephews were "her kids". She loved for "her kids" to stay the night and watch movies with her. Often times they would sit up for hours playing board games. She loved playing Yahtzee!

Consetta was always available for a phone call. She lived for phone calls. If you called, be prepared to "talk". She wanted to know everything about your day and if you were doing alright. She was always, just a phone call away.

Consetta's greatest love was her family, that's all she ever truly cared about. Her one and only true desire was for peace and happiness for each one of us. She loved everyone unconditionally no matter what. She never held a grudge against anyone for anything, even when they probably deserved it. Her door was always open to everyone and there was always room at her table for one more. She didn't have a stingy bone in her body, if you needed it, it was yours. There was
definitely a lot of love and grace in Consetta.

Consetta will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.
