James Edward “Jimmie” Williams, age 77, of Granby, Missouri, departed this life peacefully at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri, on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, following a recent decline in health. He entered this life on October 21, 1947, in Pierce City, Missouri, born to the union of the late James M. and Betty Ann (Rowley) Williams.

Jimmie was raised in Pierce City, where he attended school. His commitment to service was evident early on as he chose to serve his country in the United States Navy, a period of his life that instilled in him a sense of discipline and honor that he carried throughout his life.

After his military service, Jimmie built a life in the Neosho, Missouri area, where he became a well-respected member of the workforce. He retired from La-Z-Boy after many years of dedicated service and later contributed his skills to Crowder Industries. His work ethic and friendly demeanor made him a beloved colleague and friend.

Jimmie's faith was an integral part of his life, and was an attendee of Zion Word Church in Anderson, Missouri. His spiritual life provided him with strength and comfort, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Known for his love of the outdoors, Jimmie found joy in fishing and could often be found at flea markets, searching for treasures and sharing stories with fellow enthusiasts. He had a passion for ranching, which allowed him to enjoy the beauty of nature and the satisfaction of hard work. Jimmie's sense of humor was infectious; he was known for being ornery in the most endearing way, and he loved to make people smile. His generosity knew no bounds, and his thoughtful nature made him a cherished presence in the lives of many.

Jimmie enjoyed meeting his friends for morning coffee at Braum's, where laughter and camaraderie were always on the menu. These simple moments of connection were a testament to his belief in the importance of friendship.

Jimmie is survived by his three children, Brandie Enslow and husband, Kenneth, of Neosho, Missouri, Jeremie Bridges and wife, Amber, of Neosho, Missouri and Heather Mooneyham and husband, Heath, of Aurora, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two siblings, Ronnie Williams of Joplin, Missouri and Shelia Atkinson of Eldridge, Iowa; as well as a host of other family members and friends who were blessed to know him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Sandra Williams on March 11, 2019; a daughter, Buffie Burns; and a brother, Johnny Williams.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Tracy Cemetery east of Anderson, Missouri, with Pastor Jeremie Bridges officiating. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Heath Mooneyham, Titus Mooneyham, Nehemiah Bridges, Jachin Bridges, Jude Bridges and Charlie Tice. Arrangements are under the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
