Kathryn Sullivan

(From Daniel Funeral Home)

Kathyrn Irene Sullivan, age 94, of Golden City, Missouri, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025, at St. Luke's Nursing Center in Carthage, Missouri.

Kathyrn was born February 16, 1931, in Golden City, Missouri, to George Rufus and Lola Mae (Waterbury) Brauburger. On April 8, 1950, she married Willis “Jack” Sullivan in Golden City.

A lifelong resident of Golden City, Kathyrn was a devoted homemaker and steadfast partner to her husband, Jack, in both life and work. She worked alongside him in the dairy barn and fields, tending both livestock and crops. She held a special fondness for the farm’s many pets, especially the kittens that were spoiled under her care.

Family gatherings were important to Kathyrn, and she was the steady hand behind many Christmas gatherings, New Year’s celebrations, and spur of the moment family picnics. Her home welcomed her family at any time of day, and there was always enough to share. Kathyrn dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. Skilled in sewing, gardening, baking, and canning, she taught her kids and grandkids the value of steady work and self-sufficiency. She found quiet satisfaction in the tasks that kept her home running and her family provided for. Her sewing, once a necessity, became a cherished family tradition. She embroidered many gifts and created a handmade quilt for each grandchild for high school graduation, each one unique and stitched with love and memories in every piece of fabric. She also made sure that childhood at Grandma’s meant fun by keeping bikes, balls, games, and a space to enjoy being together. Kathyrn will be remembered for her devotion to family, her tireless work alongside her husband, and the many quiet ways she showed her care.

Survivors include four children: Twila (Danny) Bailey of Golden City, Missouri; Dixie Kreissler of Golden City, Missouri; Dean Sullivan of Lamar, Missouri; and Kenton (Karen) Sullivan of Golden City, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Stacy (Jeron) Bilyeu, Jason (Latosha) Schipull, Jennifer Kay Schipull, Theresa (Justin) Kay, Ashley (Denver) Claxton, Leslie (Ryan) Brunner, Reuben Kreissler, Seth (Emily) Kreissler, and Regina Wilkes; 19 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; a brother, Willard Brauburger; a sister-in-law, Velma Brauburger; and a son-in-law, Wayne Kreissler.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 14, 2025, at Morehead Cemetery in Lamar, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar.
