(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Arvetta Kathryn Wasbutsky, age 66, of Joplin, Missouri, formerly of Branson, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on February 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Arvetta was born on October 19, 1959, in Parma, Missouri, the daughter of Damion and Mary (Campbell) Keeton. She worked as a nurse for several years until illness forced her to retire. Arvetta enjoyed many things in life, but what brought her the greatest joy was time spent with her family. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She found comfort in simple pleasures, enjoyed watching her favorite television shows, loved to shop, and often relaxed by coloring—activities that reflected her creative and gentle spirit.
She cared deeply about her friends and those around her, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Arvetta was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, her daughter Crystal Chappell and husband Rusty of Joplin, Missouri, and her son Martin “Marty” Higgins and wife Sheri of Marion, Ohio; her grandchildren Mary Chappell and husband Ervyn Gonzalez, and her grandson Jacob Chappell, and her great-grandchildren Haden, Mariana, and Mateo.
