Betty Sue Wright, age 91, of Joplin, transitioned to be with the Lord, on Wednesday March 29, 2017, at Webb City Health & Rehab Center, following an illness.
Betty was born on March 7, 1926 in Newtonia, Mo., the daughter of the late Felix and Essie (Barker) Wright. She has been a lifetime area resident. She was a Baptist. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She loved playing Bingo.
Betty is survived by; one son Terry Wright, Joplin; one daughter, Helen Wright, Concord, N.C ; two brothers, Jerry Wright, Ft. Scott, Ks., and Erron Wright and wife Betty, Joplin; two sisters, Annabelle Jordan, Webb City, Mo., and Norma Jean Parks, Neosho, Mo.; three grandchildren, Stephonia Wright Duncan and husband Alfonzo, Terry Wright, Jr. and wife Homaira, and Alyssa Wright; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Felix “J.C.” Wright; and three sisters, Maedean Jones, Mickey Banks, and Jacqueline Hutchison.
Betty’s Homegoing Celebration will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Reverend B.J. Roberson will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Monday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be given to Mercy Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the mortuary.
