Billy F. Russow, age 82, of Joplin, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Mercy Hospital, following an illness.
Billy was born on October 3, 1934 in Gravette, Ar., the son of the late George F. and Florence Bell (Hosman) Russow. He has been a resident of Joplin since 1951. He married JoAnn Almeda Cavener on March 7, 1956 in Miami, Okla. Together they raised four children. He worked in maintenance for the Jasper County Court House. He was a member of the Jasper County Mounted Posse. He was a longtime supporter of Ride For Life for the National Kidney Foundation.
He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Russow on June 3, 2015; nine brothers; and two sisters.
Billy is survived by three sons, Billy D. Russow and fiancé Sandy Maxwell, Joplin, Gary R. Russow and Nancy Bowman, Joplin, and Karl L. Russow and wife Glenda, Seneca, Mo.; one daughter Linda Rowe and Randy Newman, Galena, Ks.; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will be in Carl Junction Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 3-4 p.m. Sunday at Mason-Woodard. Memorial contributions may be given to the National Kidney Foundation in care of Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
