James Lewis Clark (Uncle Jim), 78 of Joplin, MO, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 9, 2017 surrounded by his family.
He was the son of Rufus and Vada Clark, born in Joplin, MO on January 30, 1939. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Above all, he loved his savior and singing gospel music. He was an avid horseman and cattleman his entire life. He was a lifetime member of the First Gospel Workers Church. In his later years, Lone Elm Church became his home. He retired from Safeway Bakery.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Rufus and Vada Clark; his brother, Robert C. Clark I; his sister, Florence Ellen Arterburn; and his half-sister, Peggy Lou Vitzelio
He is survived by many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
His services will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM at First Gospel Workers Church, 1463 W. Perkins, Joplin, MO.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 4-6:00 PM at Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena, located at 12thand Main in Galena, KS.
