Jeanie Koonce

(From Dignity Memorial Funeral Home)

Jeanie was born December 7, 1938 in St. Joseph, MO to Dorothy (Brame) and Arthur Cross. She graduated from Joplin High School in 1956.

Jeanie married the love of her life, James Garland Koonce on September 21, 1957. She enjoyed traveling and was even able to make many trips with her husband as the pilot. Jeanie was a woman of strong Christian faith and lived her life serving others. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a beloved wife, devoted mother, loving sister and sister-in-law and dedicated Grammy and great-grandmother. The legacy of her love will live on through them.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Frances Hager. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jim Koonce; children, Karmen (Mike) Weatherford of Lewisville, Texas, Kamelle (Bobby) Jones of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Jim (Shelly) Koonce II of Lewisville, Texas; sister-in-law, Elaine French of Littleton, Colorado; grandchildren, Brett (Danielle) Jones, Dayton (Katelyn) Weatherford, Bryan Jones, Blair (Preston) Buntz, Blake (Emma) Jones, James Koonce III, Tara Koonce, and Kevin Koonce; precious great-granddaughter, Riley Jones; and will be remembered with love by many other family members and special friends.
