Jack Bradley

Mr. Jackie Lee “Jack” Bradley, 80, of Galena, Kansas, a longtime educator with the Joplin R-8 School District, departed this life on Monday morning, December 14, 2020, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri, after a recent battle with cancer.

Jack entered this life on October 5, 1940, in Joplin, Missouri, son of the late Jack Marion and Fleta Casey (Box) Bradley. Jack was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Joplin High School. He received his Teaching Degree from MSSC in Joplin and later his Specialist Degree in Education from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. 








In July of 1999, he retired as Assistant Superintendent with Joplin R-8 School District with nearly forty years of service. He was a talented craftsman and builder and a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Tennessee Prairie Church in Galena.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of fifty-two years, Judith Bradley on September 15, 2010; and a sister, Fleta Cox.

On September 10, 2011, he was united in marriage to Virginia Bryant and she survives of the home. 








Additional survivors include his three children, Cathy Myers and husband, David, of Seneca, Missouri, Doug Bradley and wife, Dala, of Colorado Springs, Colorado and David Bradley of Carthage, Missouri; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two stepchildren, Jeannie Stuart and husband, Pat, of Neosho, Missouri and Mark DeMasters and wife, Teresa, of Joplin; three step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; a brother, Orville Bradley of Twin Falls, Idaho; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2020 in the Chapel of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri with Pastor Dave Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-7:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel. 

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
