Mildred Pomeroy

Mildred Cora Lee Pomeroy, 82, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in the comfort of her home.

Mildred entered this life on March 14, 1938 in Shafter, California, to the union of the late Houston and Ida Pearl (Cerna) Nanney. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service as a file clerk in California. She later moved to Sarcoxie, Missouri with her family. 

She was a member of Sarcoxie River of Life Church. She had been very active with the Sarcoxie Senior Center as well as volunteering at the Sarcoxie Library. She loved spending time with her family and friends, as well as watching her grand and great grandchildren. Mildred was an inspiration to many and will be truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.








She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shelly Dawn Curry; siblings, Alice Walton. Billie Crider and Lloyd Wayne Nanney.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Alice Burruss and husband, Sherman; grandchildren, Sherman Burruss (Amy) and Jamie Holocker (Robbie) all of Sarcoxie; great-grandchildren, Cobi Holocker, Ryan Holocker, Tracey Simrell, Ben Holocker, Maxx Holocker, Allison Burruss, KayLee Burruss and Elijah Burruss; six great-great-grandchildren; brother, Gene Nanney (Dorothy) of Clovis, California; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pomeroy are 2:00 p.m. December 15, 2020 at the Sarcoxie River of Life Church with Pastor Jamie Holocker officiating. Burial will follow at Sarcoxie Cemetery. 

Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Sherman Burruss, Rob Holocker, Cobi Holocker, Ryan Holocker, Allison Burruss and KayLee Burruss. Honorary pallbearers will be Elijah Burruss, Ben Holocker and Maxx Holocker. 

Visitation will be 1:00 pm prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Sarcoxie River of Life Church or Monett River of Life Church, in care of the funeral home. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through our website www.housh-goodwinfuneralhome.com
