Lois LeVaugh

Lois M. (Kirby) LeVaugh, age 73, of Sheldon, Missouri passed away unexpectedly July 9th, 2021, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

Lois was born May 16, 1948 in Pittsburg, Kansas, the daughter of Kermit Ray and Wanda May (Shelburn) Kirby. She graduated from Liberal High School, Class of 1966. Following graduation, she studied physical education at PIttsburg State University. 










She married Ken LeVaugh in 1969 and settled in Sheldon, MO. They would have celebrated 53 years of marriage in August. She retired from the Division of Family Services for Barton County in 1999, and then later retired from Clarkson Construction (Kansas City) in 2011. 

Lois was an active member of the Sheldon Christian Church, heavily involved with the Sheldon Picnic Association, 4-H leader when her kids were young, served on the Sheldon City Council and many other organizations while her kids were in school. She never missed an event where her kids were involved.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her brother, William "Bill" Ray Kirby.


Surviving in addition to her husband Ken LeVaugh are her son, Kulley and his wife Malinda "Mendy" (Faherty) of Frontenac, Kansas; a daughter, Latisha Mailes and her husband Brandon of Joplin; three grandchildren, Gabrielle LeVaugh, age 17, Madilyn Mailes, age 5 and Mazie Mailes, age 4; one sister, Mary "Kay" (Kirby) McKee and her husband Jim of Liberal; one sister-in-law, Nancy (Knipp) Kirby of Tipton and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2021 at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow at Iantha Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the funeral home.
