Bill Hastings

William “Bill” R. Hastings, 62, of Pittsburg, died at 2:55 p.m., Sunday, August 15, 2021 in the Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg.
Bill was born September 22, 1958 in Parsons, a son of Theodore and Jean (Farrell) Hastings.

He grew up in the Parsons area and graduated from Labette County High School in Altamont in 1976. He attended Labette Community College in Parsons for a year.

Bill married Jane Ann Shouse on November 5, 1982 in Miami, Oklahoma. Jane survives of the home.








Bill worked at the Flesh Company in Parsons as a foreman for over 20 years before working at World Wide Refinishers in Tulsa. He worked in sales at Stennocarbon in Parsons before owning and operating Hastings Insurance Company in Pittsburg.

He enjoyed his children, grandchildren, and other family members, motorcycle riding, wood working and pulling pranks on others.

Bill attended the Nazarene Church in Pittsburg.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Jane, of the home, are his son, Nicholas Robert Hasting, and his fiancé, Stephanie Renee Gordon of Parkville, Missouri; his daughter, Christy Marie Hartman, and her husband, Jonathan, of Carthage, Missouri; his grandchildren Mikayla Hastings, Trevor Meadows, Bailyn Hartman, Kelton Gordon, and Colton Gordan; his brothers, Fred Hastings, and his wife, Martha, of Warrensburg, Missouri, Ed Hastings, and his wife, Kristen, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, Don Hastings, and his wife, Nicky, of La Cygne; his sisters, Theresa Flippin, and her husband, David, of Jefferson City, Missouri, Patti Divenney, and her husband, Carroll, of Alva, Oklahoma, Missy Wilson, and her husband, Mike, of Ozark, Missouri, Deborah Hastings of Parsons.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Christy Marie Hastings; his brothers Tony Hastings and Rick Hastings.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the McCune Cemetery with Rev. John Chastain officiating. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to family choice and these may be left at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 112 N 26th Street, Box 942, Parsons, 67357
