Larry King

Larry Lee King, age 78, Quapaw, OK. went home to be with his Lord, on Sunday, March, 13, 2022.

He was born January 26,1944 in Columbus, KS. to the late Charles King and Olive Williams King. He was the youngest and last of the King Boys growing up on the family farm known as King’s Hill southeast of Columbus. He graduated from Riverton High School in 1962 and attended Joplin Junior College and PSU. During high school and college, he enjoyed playing bass guitar in his band, The Cavaliers.








Larry married Linda Cottrell on December 3, 1966, in Baxter Springs. He worked construction with his dad and uncles starting his own business in 1969 when he and Linda moved to the Quapaw area and enjoyed over 50 years in their home on Spring River.

He was a former member and chairman of the Ottawa County Floodplain Board and a current and proud member of the Eastside Baptist Church. He served as Deacon and Charter Trustee and was honored as Deacon Emeritus in November 2017.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty Duding; one brother, George King; and a granddaughter, Channing Robinson.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Linda, of the home; one daughter, Candice Robinson and husband, Bridger; and one grandson, Chandler, all of Owasso, OK; as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 17,2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the Derfelt Funeral Home Baxter Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. at the Baxter Springs Cemetery. Brother John Crowley and Mike Mayfield will officiate.
