(From Parker Mortuary)Doris Jean Gibbs, age 97, of Joplin, MO, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025.
Doris was born on February 15, 1927, in Humboldt, KS, to the late union of Charles and Ruby (Hunt) Domitz. She grew up south of Joplin, near Redings Mill and attended Redings Mill schools. She spent most of her time being a loving mother to her two children, Ron and Billie. She was extremely talented in needle work and created quilts. She loved spending time with her children and cooking delicious meals for her family. Doris enjoyed the simple things in life. She was an honest and caring mother.
Doris was preceded in death by her daughter, Billie Couch; and three brothers, Leroy Domitz, Chuck Domitz and Dean Domitz.
Doris is survived by her son, Ron Yost and wife, Roxanna; two grandchildren, Jeff Yost and wife, Stacie, and Rhonda Waddle and husband, Bryan; and seven great-grandchildren, Madison Yost, Reagan Yost, McKinley Yost, Kennedy Yost, Harrison Waddle, Jackson Waddle and Anderson Waddle.
A private burial will be held at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
