Q. L. Blevins

Quenton “QL” Lee Blevins, age 83, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 26, 2025 in Grove, OK. He was born on July 6, 1941 in Jay, Oklahoma to his parents, William and Ola Blevins.

QL grew up near Jay, OK and attended various county schools in the area. In 1969 he moved to Colorado and worked in the Logging Industry. A few years later he started a Logging Company with his brother Silas, they worked together until 1980. In 1982, QL moved back to the Jay area and drove a dump truck and did backhoe work until he retired in the mid 1990’s. 






QL enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. We are sure going to miss our QL and his cooking. He always watched over us and made sure we were all doing OK. Always putting us first and parenting us no matter what age we were. We know that our hearts are hurting here on Earth, while his heart is filled with Joy and Happiness reuniting with his heavenly wife Twila. We couldn’t be happier for our mom and dad to finally be together again Eternally.

QL is preceded in death by his late love of his life wife Twila Payton of 48 years of marriage; his great-grandson James Dale; his siblings, Norman, Coleman, Utah, Silas, Clarence and Lloyd; his brother-In-law Virgil Browning.

QL is survived by his children, Judy Kemp and husband Jeff of Jay, OK and Luke Blevins and wife Regina of Jay, OK; sister, Joann Browning of Jay, OK; Sister-In-Law, Wanda Blevins of Southwest City, MO; Grandchildren, Derek Flaming, Amber Barnett and Anthony, Kaitie Layne and Brent, Payton Blevins & Donavah Blake; Great-Grandchildren, Austin Flaming, Malinda Wright, Ray Wright, Logan Wright and Zoey Kemp; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

QL’s Celebration of Life Visitation to greet friends will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 6:00-8:00pm at Lawson’s Funeral Homes & Cremation Services Chapel, 311 W. Gray St. Jay, OK 74346.

QL’s Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, 10:00am, January 29, 2025 at Lawson's Funeral Homes & Cremation.








Services Chapel, 311 W. Gray St., Jay, OK 74346 with Chaplain Debi Olive officiating. Followed by QL’s funeral procession to Indianola Cemetery, Jay, OK.

QL’s burial will be held at Indianola Cemetery, Jay, OK.

Arrangements are entrusted to Lawson’s Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 311 W Gray St., Jay, OK. 74346 with Shaunda J. Lawson, 3rd Generation Owner/Funeral Director and Staff.
