Victoria “Vickie” Wagner, aged 74, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 31st, 2019 at Joplin Gardens in Joplin, Missouri. Victoria was born in Joplin, MO on May 8, 1945 to Clarence and Effie (Showers) Workman. She attended Joplin schools, graduating from Joplin High School in 1963.
On July 19, 1964, she married Rex Wagner, he survives.
Vickie is also survived by her three daughters, Debbie (John) Gould of Carl Junction, MO, Becky (Jon) Carter of Bentonville, AR and Vicki Lynn Wagner, Carl Junction, MO. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Heather Corder, Jared Corder, Nathan Wagner, his significant other Savannah Hardiman and her son Brandon, Trent Carter, his significant other Jessica Johnson, Lexi Carter and Brooklynn Robison Wagner, along with 3 great grandchildren, Emma, Michael, and Mireya Jane. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She was also blessed with two special friends who helped care for her, Uldine Ryan and Jasmine Thompson.
She worked for Keller’s Barbecue during her teen years and made her career working for Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club. She enjoyed throwing parties and loved having luaus at her house. She got the most enjoyment out of dressing up in costumes and making people happy; being Mrs. Claus was her favorite. She was a member of LifePoint Pentecostal Church, and was active in the senior citizen ministry.
She was the youngest of 12 children. Her surviving siblings are Lavon McCurdy, Margie Caylor, Joe Workman, Frank Workman and Carolyn Reynolds and a bonus sister, Wanda Gooch. Proceeding her in death were her siblings: Charles Workman, Eldon Workman, Clarence Workman, David Workman, Grayson Workman and Laverne Farmer
Arrangements were being made by Parker Mortuary. Visitation and Celebration of Life services will be held at LifePoint Pentecostal Church in Joplin, MO on Saturday, January 4 with visitation from 10 a.m. to ll a.m. and Celebration of Life starting at 11 a.m.. Burial will be at Osborne Cemetery in Joplin, MO.
Pastor Fred Oates will officiate. Pallbearers will Jared Corder, Trent
Carter, Nathan Wagner, Tim Wagner, Jon Carter and John Gould. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roger Wagner and Mickey Wagner.
