Don Ross

Donal “Don” Ross, 86 of Weir, KS passed away among family at the College View Manor in Joplin, MO May 6, 2021. He was born on August 26, 1934 to Paul and Maggie (Lucas) Ross. 


Don was formerly an Engine Conductor at the Parsons Ammunition Plant for approximately 35 years. Beyond his career, Don was a member of the First Baptist Church in Weir, KS, and also refereed for local school sports. He was an avid woodworker, and deeply loved travel, having visited numerous countries and nearly all 50 states.








Don is survived by his three children: Cindy Watson of Joplin, MO; Kenny and spouse Sandy Ross of Weir, KS; and Karla and spouse Robbert Hubbbard of Weir, KS; three step children: Ruth and spouse Mike Webb of Miami, OK; Roger Cunningham of Chetopa, KS; and Rodney and spouse Annie Cunningham of Bartlett, KS; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grand-children; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Bill Ross of Wichita, KS. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, three brothers, four sisters, his former wife Nina, his daughter Debbie, and three granddaughters: Mindi, Tish, and Tosh.

Memorial Services will be held 10am Friday, May 14, 2021 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, Weir, KS with Ben Scott officiating. Burial will follow at the Hosey Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends for visitation from 6pm-8pm Thursday, May 13, 2021.
