(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)It is with loving hearts that the family of Earl Clellan White, announces his passing from this world, into the next on May 7th, 2021 at home with his family.
Earl was born on January 12, 1934 in Sydney, Iowa to the late McClellan and Grace Maude (Schneider) White, he was the youngest of 14 children.
He married Carmen Louise (Kyle) White on Aug. 5th,1955 in Omaha, Nebraska. They shared 63 years of marriage together. Earl and Carmen both had a daughter from a previous marriage, however they loved each other's daughters as their own. Together, their family grew with four more daughters.
Growing up in Southwest Iowa, working on farms and in corn fields in very cold winters taught him a lot of life lessons, hard work and long hours. All great training for his future career.
Earl was a "Railroad Man", retiring after 33 years. He always loved the Railroad and was grateful for the good life it provided for his family. He started his railroad career with the Union Pacific, one year later moving to the Missouri Pacific where he spent the majority of his years. In 1975 a promotion brought him from Nebraska to Carthage, Missouri.
After retirement, he continued his second career as a hobby farmer, enjoying long days working on his 53-acre farm just outside of Carthage and always helping out his girls. Earl lived his life surrounded by his family, friends, and his animals.
He took great pride throughout his life ensuring that his family was taken care of. Anyone who knew him, knew his family came first, always! Many times after a long day working cattle, in the hay fields putting up hay or shearing sheep he would enjoy his evenings sitting on his patio grilling and visiting with any number of his kids (6), grandkids (12), great-grandkids (29), and great-great-grandkids (6), that would stop by just to see him and "Mom"(his pet name for his wife Carmen), friends and neighbors were always welcome too.
Earl had also been a head deacon at Grace Assembly Full Gospel Church in Oronogo, Missouri for several years. He loved being around people.
Earl was preceded in death by his beloved wife and two daughters Valerie Carmona of Red Oak, Iowa, and Sharon Larimore of Carthage, Missouri. Also waiting for him in Heaven are three sisters and nine brothers: Della, Dorothy, Algreda, Frank, Ray, Virgil, Darrell (his closest and most enjoyed sibling who he missed to the end), Lenzo, Paul, Charles, Delmar and Don.
Earl is survived in life by four daughters Victoria Kirkpatrick, Diana Impson (Bruce), both of Carthage, Missouri. Cheryl Estes-Rose (Kevin Rose) of Jasper, Missouri, Nancy Estes (Mike) of Oronogo, Missouri and a sister Carmon (Kyle) Capper, of Iowa, many grandchildren, family and friends.
Visitation will be on Tuesday May 11th from 6-8p.m. at the funeral home. Services to celebrate his life will be at 2p.m. on Wednesday May 12th, 2021 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor John Petticrew officiating. His body will be laid to rest in Emmanuel Cemetery, Carthage, Missouri. Those honoring his life as pallbearers are Eric White, Vincent Estes, James Estes, Tyler Hall, Erik Amsden and Trevor Larimore. Honorary pallbearers are Shawn White, David Peck, Tad Garrison, Michael Larimore, and Hunter Winans.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Carthage Humane Society. Contributions may be left with the funeral home.
