Robert “Bob” Steiner, 63, of Joplin, MO passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2023 at his home in Joplin.

Bob was born on October 24, 1959 in Springfield, MO, son of the late Donald and Nancy (McKee) Steiner. He graduated from Logan Rogersville High School before furthering his education at the University of Missouri-Rolla and Wichita State University, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. 

He served his country honorably in the United States Navy. Bob was of the Catholic faith and was an advocate of CASA. He had worked for many years at Rubbermaid as an Electrical Engineer. Bringing him joy in life was being with his children and granddaughter and spending time at the lake with family and pets after retirement.

On September 5, 1987, in Pierce City, MO, Bob Steiner and Rebecca Buchner were united in marriage. To this union, they were blessed with three children.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca; and his brother, Donald Leo Steiner, Jr.

Bob is survived by one son, Zach Steiner and wife Coleman, of Golden, MO; two daughters, Aly Steiner of Eagle Rock, MO and Abby Steiner and Gonzalo Contreras of McAllen, TX; one granddaughter, Kaylan Steiner of Eagle Rock, MO; his fiancée, Kim Wirths of Joplin, MO; two sisters, Cindy Jackson and husband David, of Humansville, MO and Patty Steiner of Springfield; one niece, Miranda Thimes of Springfield; his mother-in-law, Ruth Buchner of Eagle Rock, MO; and a host of extended family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett. Father Brian Straus will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
