Ted Sweet, lost a battle with cancer and entered into Heaven on Friday August 5, 2016 at his home with his wife and dogs by his side.
Ted was born June 26, 1944 in Galena, Ks. to the late Theodore and Virginia Eurit Sweet.
He worked for 30 years, as a Truck Driver for Snyder Bridge Company in Joplin, Mo. Ted was a Vietnam Veteran and a member of the Joplin VFW.
He married Louise Marks on October 28, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nv. They have spent the last 24 years together in the Joplin area; she survives. He was a lifelong resident of the Joplin area. He had a love for his family, friends and animals. He will be missed by everyone.
Additional survivors include five daughters, Jodie Cartright, Sherrie Webb, Annette Webb, Alecia Cartright and Melissa Sweet all of Joplin, three sons, Robert Marks and Troy Marks both of Joplin, Marty Marks of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers, Jerry Sweet and his wife Ruby of Diamond, and Gene Sweet and his wife Judy of Carl Junction, Mo., a sister; Peggy Kaiser and her husband Fred of Joplin, Mo. Grandchildren include Amanda Marks, Steven Marks, Holden Marks, Taylor Marks, Eyan Nickerson, Cara Marks, Daniel Marks, Gus Marks, Dantley Harbin , Ashli Robinson, Tori Webb, Andrea Taylor and Austin Cartright.
In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by an infant son Travis Sweet, grandson Trevor Webb, and sister Linda Kay Sweet and brother Jim Sweet.
Visitation will be at 1:00 pm, and Services at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel, with Reverend John Mitchell, Spring City Baptist Church, officiating. Committal of Ashes with Military Honors will follow at Carl Junction Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory of Joplin, Mo.
