Janice Souther

Janice Lynn Souther, 64, of Arma, passed away at 10:20 p.m., Saturday, August 7, 2021, at the Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg.

She was born July 31, 1957, at Miami, OK, the daughter of William and Margaret (Butler) Denney.

She worked as a sewist for 20 plus years at National Mills and in food service at Sunset Manor.

Membership was held in the FLAG Church, Pittsburg.








Her proudest achievement is her four grandchildren. Janice loved hot rod cars, sewing, cooking, classic rock and living life on her terms.

Janice is survived by two daughters, Amanda Haskew (Jake) of Vienna, Austria and Stacey Day of Pittsburg, KS, four grandchildren, Abby Haskew, Katy Haskew, Taylor Day and Madi Day and two sisters, Christy Jergens of Mindenmines, MO, and Cathy Brown of Pittsburg, KS.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Joe Denney, one sister, Cindy Albers and her love of 20 plus years, Dennis Schartz.

A graveside service for Janice is set for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at the St. Anthony's Cemetery, Weir, with her son-in-law, Jake Haskew officiating. Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas Behavioral Health.
