Robin McLean

Robin Renae McLean, age 54, Joplin, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Mercy of Joplin after a sudden illness.

Robin was born August 31, 1966 in Joplin, daughter of the late LeEtta Janice (Hall) Bird and Virgel O. Bird, Sr. of Chetopa, Kansas. She grew up in Joplin attending Joplin Schools, and later worked as a nurse’s aide for local nursing homes. She loved spending time with her family, and was known for her baking ability. She always made the rolls and cakes for the family get togethers. She will be greatly missed by her family, and many friends.








In addition to her mother, Robin was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgel O. Bird, Jr., and Christopher Bird.

Survivors include her children, Treada Smidt (Jason) of Asbury, Missouri, Allan McLean (Kelly) of Joplin, Brandon McLean (Adrian Valentine) of Joplin, Kasey Collins of Joplin; Life Partner, Robert “Buck” Collins; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Cupp (Jeff) of Sarcoxie, Missouri, Autumn Evans of Chetopa, Kansas, Chassity Carpenter (Darrell) of Arkansas, brothers, Justin Bird (Theresa DeBoutez), Marty Bird, Kobi Lawson (Billie) all of Chetopa; aunt, Eddie Danley of Carterville, Missouri, and great-Aunt, Carolyn “Sue” Cupp of Joplin; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Leonard Miller officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
