OT Brumfield

Ottis Thomas “OT” Brumfield, age 94, of Neosho, Missouri, entered into rest at 2:21 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Medicalodge in Neosho. He was born October 10, 1927, in Tylertown, Mississippi, to the late Ottis and Virgie (Spiers) Brumfield. 

On August 3, 1952, he married Bonnie Gay Hively in Neosho. She preceded him in death on December 8, 2014. Ottis, or OT as he was affectionately referred, lived in the Neosho area most of his life and was a Charter member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1945 to 1948 and served in the Army from 1950 to 1952. OT was a farmer through and through. He maintained a crop farm and had cattle, both dairy and beef. His favorite pastime was fishing.








He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Pearlene and Bill Breshears of Bolivar, Missouri, Laquita and Bill Lyttle of Neosho, and Tommy Brumfield and Dr. Cherylon Yarosh of Joplin; four grandchildren and their spouses, Reggie and Kristie Breshears, Cherita and Michael Heller, Latisha and Robert Stevens, Tamara and Rob Youngblood; one step-granddaughter and her husband, Megan and Clayton Sloniker, sixteen greatgrandchildren; one brother, Larry Brumfield of Carthage, Missouri and a host of dear family and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, his two sisters, Shirley Jo Copling and Pearlene Brumfield, and one brother, Lance Brumfield, preceded him in death.

A graveside service with full military honors, under the direction of the Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021, at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Neosho. Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the internment.
