Chuck Heriford

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Charles Heriford, age 85, of Joplin, Missouri passed away Saturday February 26, 2022.

As a teenager Chuck began his work at the Jane truck stop. Later he worked in his feed store and milk route. After high school he and high school friends, Leon Russell and Dennis Wellsley went to Borger, Texas and worked in construction work and the oil fields.

In 1959 he married the love of his life Shirley Brown and their marriage lasted 61 happy years.

In 1963 he returned to Joplin and went in business with his brother-in-law, Bernie Brown selling mobile homes. They had 72 mobile home lots throughout the United States. Later Chuck started his own business called Capital Burgers. Then Chuck opened his own business in Springdale, Arkansas called Pioneer Mobile Homes. At this same time, he started Pioneer Motor Coach where he sold luxury coaches. He was in the Mobile Home Hall of Fame for his sales. Chuck was also a licensed pilot for many years and owned his own plane. He used his plane many times to fly friends to hospitals for emergencies. We are all so grateful to be recipients of his love and kindness.

Upon retiring he made the most important decision of his life to dedicate his life to his God Jehovah and was baptized June 30, 2012, serving faithfully until his death.

One of the great loves of his life was fishing and he made many trips to Rainey Lake in Canada taking many friends and family.

He will truly be missed by all his family and friends.

Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Thursday March 3, 2022, at Osborne Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm Wednesday March 2, 2022, at Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
