Alma Raines

Alma Faye Raines, age 81, Joplin, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at her home after a sudden illness.

Alma was born February 12, 1943 in Granville County, N.C., daughter of the late Jack J. Humphries and Veaner Dean (Stone) Humphries. She was one of twelve children in the family, and grew up in the Grandville County area and graduated from High School in Oxford, N.C. She moved to Neosho in 1990 and enjoyed life to the fullest being here with her son. She was very involved with the family activities and loved to go shopping at local flea markets and garage sales. She will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to her parents, Alma was preceded in death by a daughter, Melba Hitchcock; and 11 siblings.

Survivors include her sons, Damon Hayes of Grandville County, N.C. and Jerry Guy, Jr., of Joplin, MO; 15 grandchildren including Trenten Lynne Guy, Jack Hayes, Tyler Hayes, and Theodore Kirkland; three great-grandchildren, and a daughter-in-law, Emily Bird.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary with no services planned at this time.
