Wallace Gladden

Wallace Wade Gladden, age 83, passed away on January 12, 2025, in West Plains, Missouri.

Wallace was born on August 15,1941 in Joplin, Missouri to Luther (Ray) and Grace Gladden and grew up alongside his three siblings.

He graduated from Carterville High School with the Class of 1959. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Pittsburg State University and a master’s degree in business administration from Drury College.








On January 29, 1966, he married his loving wife, Sharon Gladden (Burk) and was blessed with three wonderful children. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family, and they were the center of his life. He was an avid fisherman and Webb City Cardinals fan. He worked for Leggett and Platt in Carthage, MO in finance for over 20 years, and he was an active member of College Heights and Park Plaza Christian churches.

Wallace was proceeded in death by his wife, parents, and one sister Becky Gladden.

He is survived by his three children: Doug Gladden (Jamie), Scott Gladden (Doloris), and Jessica Richardson (Travis), and two brothers Roger Gladden and Marc Gladden. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Mackenzie Steiner, Lana Richardson, Alexander Richardson, Cierra Rose, Anthony Keller and Kassady McBee and 4 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.








The family will receive friends and visitors from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday, January 16 at Mason-Woodard Chapel 3701 E. 7th St Joplin, MO. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, January 17 at Carterville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Wallace’s memory to Joplin Area Agency on Aging-meal program or Crosslines Ministries-Joplin in care of the funeral home.
