Leo Cox passed away at 5 P.M. on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born December 30, 1933 to Calvin Arthur and Clara May (Bery) Cox in Pierceville, KS.
He was born in the depression and dust bowl era and his family moved to a nicer area north of Milford, MO. Leo attended rural school in Zodiac for 7 years and one year at valley before graduating from high school in Lamar, MO in 1951.
He married his country sweetheart, Maxine Wilson, November 1, 1953 and celebrated his 66th Wedding Anniversary with family and friends on Friday, just one day before passing.
Leo worked a 50-year career as a carpenter and home builder in the local area. His pastimes were hunting, fishing, and teaching himself to sing and play the guitar. He enjoyed taking his children and other family members on vacations in their trucks and campers across the United States, Canada and Alaska.
He is survived by his wife, daughter Debbie Little and husband Kim, sons Justen Cox and wife Brenda and Cooper Cox and wife Sherry, 6 grandchildren, Nathan Little, Melanie Eitel and husband Jamie, Andrew Little, Vanessa Manes and husband Mike, Garrett Cox and wife Brittany, Dalton Cox, 2 great- grandchildren, Natasha Little, Olivia Manes, a sister in law, Barbara Cox of Everton, MO and many nieces and nephews.
Leo was the youngest of three brothers and one sister and is preceded in death his parents and his siblings, Dortha Bennett and her husband Ray, James Cox and wife Dena, Marven Cox, and Tommy Cox and wife Barbara (still living).
There will be a visitation Tuesday November 5, 2019 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Konantz Warden Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday November 6, 2019 at Konanatz Warden Funeral Home followed by interment at St James Cemetery in Milford, MO.
