Reginald Gregg ‘Reggie’ Thomas, age 91, Joplin, passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 at Mercy Hospital after suffering from a stroke.
Reggie was born January 8, 1929 in Joplin, Missouri to the late A.R. Thomas and Florence Higginbotham Thomas. He graduated from Miami High School in 1947 and attended Cincinnati Bible seminary, graduating in 1951 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Reggie was a full-time evangelist, and his work took him to many parts of the world.
Reggie loved his family with all his heart. He cherished the time he spent with them. He will be missed by everyone that knew and loved him.
He married Esther Matthews on December 17, 1977 in Lamar, Missouri. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include his children, Tony Thomas and wife, Christie, Tracy Thomas and wife, Janie, Chris Henson and husband, Mark, Tim Thomas and wife, Sandy, Teresa Diener, and husband, Bud, Lori Darnell and husband, Zane; twenty six grandchildren; forty three great grandchildren a sister, Barbara Barger; a brother, Ed Thomas; nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Reggie was preceded in death by two sons, Terry Thomas and Tom Fullerton.
Services are planned for Friday at 10:00 a.m. at First Christian Church. Pastor David Johnson, Pastor Truman Brady and Pastor Tony Thomas will officiate. Interment will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-7:00 p.m. at First Christian Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to White Fields Overseas Evangelism, in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
