Ryan Grissom

Ryan Anthony Grissom, 36, of Webb City, Missouri, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 27, 2020.

Ryan was born on January 5, 1984, in Fort Scott, Kansas, to Dennis Grissom and Peggy Simmons. He attended Webb City schools and graduated from Webb City High School in 2003. He was the Class President and a State Wrestler. Ryan was very intelligent, carrying a 4.0 GPA through school.

His artistic talents led him to discover his advanced ability in welding and he worked for Ducommun LaBarge for 10 years. His favorite job was first job as a server at the Old Miner’s Inn, where he worked for Max Givone.

Ryan was a jokester, always laughing and making life fun for everyone around him. He had a kind spirit and he loved his two children, Madison and Dylan. Ryan enjoyed deep sea diving and his favorite dive was in France with his high school sweetheart, MarieJeanne Givone. He loved to attend the Camp Zoe Music Festival and listen to covers of one of his favorite bands, The Grateful Dead. He always meant well and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.








Ryan was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Clarence Grissom; his paternal grandmother, who helped raise him, Rose “Rosie” Grissom; maternal grandfather, Raymond Simmons; maternal grandmother, Kathleen Simmons; a cousin, Forrest Fisher; and an uncle, Mark Simmons.

He is survived by his two children, Madison and Dylan Grissom, and their mother, Ashley Lawless, all of Webb City; his father, Dennis Grissom, of Webb City; his mother, Peggy Carrozzo, of Webb City; three siblings, Brooke Keene (David) of Paris, Texas, Kris Hemby (Curtis) of Pittsburg, Kansas, and Myles Grissom of the State of Oregon; seven nephews, Koel, Zander, Wilder, Derrick, Dylan, Dalton, and Drew; aunts and uncles, Reece Grissom of Gilbert, Arizona, Brenda Taylor of Roseville, Ohio, Rita Fisher of Joplin, Barbara Haynes (James) of Joplin, Michael Grissom of Webb City, Max Simmons (Karen) of Lamar and Mike Simmons of Plainview, Texas; his best friend, Denver Ferguson, of Webb City; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020, at Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City. The family will receive friends for visitation at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. 

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home.
