(From Ozark Funeral Home)Mr. Gary Stewart, 71, of Stella, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at his residence in Stella, Missouri. He was born on January 25, 1949 in Southwest City, Missouri, born to the late Durwood and Rosa Lee (Litchfield) Stewart.
He is survived by his daughter Martha (Marty) Miller, who resides in Anchorage, AK. His adopted daughter Katherine Neraasen, living in Brooksfield, FL. His brother Stanley Stewart and wife Debbie from Rocky Comfort, MO. Sister Sandra Smith and husband James of Anderson, MO. Sister, Julia Eldred also from Anderson, MO. Many nieces and nephews whom he cherished and loved.
Gary retired from the Navy in 1992 and had many occupations throughout his life. He valued living a simple life, spending his time gardening, singing at church, playing scrabble, journaling and in his earlier years ballroom skating. He treasured being outdoors, watching the wildlife around his home, and taking walks in the woods with his dogs. His faith, his family and his animals were all top priority.
He was a man of conviction, faith, and dedication to his Lord, Jesus Christ. A great void has come into our lives with his passing but we find great solace knowing he is with our Lord in heaven.
Funeral services for Mr. Gary Stewart will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Sumler officiating. Open visitation for family and friends will be from 11:00 am until service time on Tuesday.
