Curtis Lee

Curtis Lee, age 87, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.

He was born on August 15, 1936, near Exeter, Missouri, to the late Ross and Ollie Lee.

Curtis proudly served his country in the United States Army and later found his calling as a skilled union plumber and pipe fitter. He dedicated his time and craftsmanship to ensuring that countless homes and buildings were well-equipped and functional. He took great pride in his work and knew his labor was for the Lord, not man.








In 1957, Curtis married the love of his life, Joan Tyler, in a small but beautiful ceremony held at Union Gap, Washington. Curtis and Joan shared a profound bond and journeyed through life together for over six decades. Their love was an extraordinary example for all who knew them.

Curtis always provided for his two children, Cindy Rusk and Ron Lee, both of Sarcoxie, Missouri.

As a doting grandfather, Curtis delighted in being a part of his grandchildren’s lives. He leaves behind two grandsons, Jason Wade of Alvin, Texas, and Ross Wade of Waynesville, Missouri, as well as one granddaughter, Sasha Lee. His presence brought immense joy to their lives, and his memory will forever be cherished by his grandchildren. Curtis cherished his role as a grandfather and was a constant source of support and guidance to them. He shared with them his passion for exploring the beauty of America through memorable camping trips and visits to various places across the country.

Curtis also leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness, which touched the lives of his extended family and numerous friends. His unwavering belief in God brought solace and strength to him throughout his life.








Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Ollie Lee, as well as his two brothers, Paul Lee and Ross Lee, and his two sisters, Dorothy Cooper and Marie Bateman. While they are deeply missed, the memories of their time together bring comfort and joy to those who loved them.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Curtis’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Osborne Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the caring and compassionate professionals of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory in Joplin, Missouri.

Curtis Lee has left an indelible mark on the lives he touched, and his legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in eternal peace.
